 Research areas/interests:

Neuroprotection

Neurobiology

Pathobiology of infectious agent, host immune responses, and disease diagnosis

Personal Brief Introduction:

I am a pathologist with PhD in pathology, research interests in pathobiology of infectious agent, host immune responses, and disease diagnosis. My current research focuses neuroprotection of brain diseases through Chinese herbal medicine using animal’s models. I’m working on C. elegans and mice model to check the neuroprotection of Parkinson’s disease. Previously my work was on modulation of host innate immune responses to counteract the avian bacterial disease particularly Salmonella gallinarum. I have experience in fundamental pathobiological and immunological techniques i.e. isolation and molecular characterization of pathogens from food and animal sources, disease diagnosis via molecular and immunological assays, in vitro antiviral assays. I have more than nine publications and two book chapters in national and international impact factor journals. My research aims to explore the biology of host-agent relationship with particular focus bacterial diseases, their recognition by host pattern recognition receptors, host innate immune factors that limit the virus replication and gene regulation. The long-term goal of my research is to develop preventive and therapeutic approaches to control infections.
