On the afternoon of November 6, 2025, the closing ceremony of the "Ningbo University-CMSTECH Joint Program in Aerospace Biomedicine & Pharmaceuticals, and Artificial Intelligence" was held ceremoniously in the first-floor lobby of Building 12, Bao Yugang Science Building at Ningbo University, marking the successful conclusion of this nearly two-week international training activity.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Researcher Huang Shaohua, Executive Vice Director of the Ningbo University Institute of Drug Discovery Technology. Distinguished guests in attendance included Deputy Director Meng Kangpei of the Academician and Overseas Expertise Service Center of Ningbo Association for Science and Technology, Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of COMSTECH, Researcher Liu Xinmin, Chief Scientist of the Ningbo University Institute of Drug Discovery Technology, and Researcher Chen Yuzong, who delivered remarks. Academician Zhao Yufen, Director of the Institute, gave the closing address. The ceremony was attended by 11 trainees from seven countries including Azerbaijan, Egypt, and Pakistan, as well as faculty and student representatives from the Institute.
In his remarks, Deputy Director Meng Kangpei affirmed the program's significant importance in promoting international scientific and technological cooperation and youth talent cultivation, and extended congratulations on behalf of the Ningbo Association for Science and Technology for the successful organization of the training program. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary expressed gratitude to Ningbo University and the Institute of Drug Discovery Technology for their meticulous organization, emphasizing that such cooperation has far-reaching implications for strengthening ties between OIC member states and China in the field of science and technology.
During the certificate presentation ceremony that followed, Academician Zhao Yufen, Deputy Director Meng Kangpei, Researcher Liu Xinmin, and Researcher Chen Yuzong jointly presented certificates to all trainees and took commemorative photographs.
In the trainee presentation session, several young scholars delivered systematic reports and shared insights on topics including aerospace biomedicine, applications of artificial intelligence in the pharmaceutical field, and frontier technologies in chemical biology, fully demonstrating the knowledge gained and research inspiration acquired during the training period, reflecting the substantial achievements of this program.
In her closing remarks, Director Zhao Yufen reviewed the entire training process, expressed sincere gratitude to COMSTECH, the Ningbo Association for Science and Technology, and all collaborating organizations for their strong support, and extended warm congratulations to the trainees who successfully completed the program. She noted that this training was not only a transmission of knowledge and technology but also a bridge of friendship and cooperation, and expressed hope for continued deepening of collaboration in more frontier fields in the future.
The "Ningbo University-CMSTECH Joint Program in Aerospace Biomedicine & Pharmaceuticals, and Artificial Intelligence" was themed "Aerospace Biomedicine and Artificial Intelligence," encompassing various formats including academic lectures, laboratory and enterprise visits, and special presentations. It effectively promoted dialogue and collaboration between China and Islamic countries in the interdisciplinary fields of biomedicine and artificial intelligence, laying a solid foundation for establishing long-term, practical international cooperation networks in the future.
