Professor Liu Xinmin and Ms. Du Qiaobei from our institute have been officially appointed by the Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as Chairman and Assistant Coordinator of the Expert Panel Advisory on Traditional Medicine, respectively. The appointments, effective from December 30, 2025, to December 30, 2030, mark the first time Chinese scholars have assumed such senior leadership roles in this field within the OIC framework.
COMSTECH, a ministerial-level standing committee of the OIC comprising 57 member states, is dedicated to advancing scientific and technological cooperation across the Islamic world. These appointments reflect the international community's high recognition of our institute's academic excellence and research capabilities in traditional medicine and phytopharmaceuticals.

Prof. Dr. Liu Xinmin will provide strategic guidance, academic leadership, and policy recommendations to OIC-COMSTECH in traditional medicine and phytopharmaceuticals, while representing the organization at relevant global forums.
Ms. Du Qiaobei will assist in coordinating research initiatives, capacity-building programs, and inter-regional cooperation in traditional medicine under the OIC-COMSTECH Health Strategy framework.
This achievement represents a significant milestone for our institute's internationalization strategy and will open new avenues for collaboration with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative in biomedicine and health sciences.
